Title

Resolution directing the Mayor and the Director of the Department of Finance to extend the filing date of Pittsburgh Earned Income Tax for those individuals called to active duty.

Body

WHEREAS, a number of individuals have been called to active duty; and

WHEREAS, it would place an undue burden on these individuals to adhere to the current filing deadlines for earned income; and

WHEREAS, it would be in the best interest of the City to extend the filing deadline for those individuals;

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

Section 1.  The Mayor and the Director of the Department of Finance are hereby directed to establish alternate filing dates the 2002 PGH-40 for those individuals called to active duty that are equal to the alternate filing dates established by the Federal Government for those called to active duty.
