WHEREAS, the Three Rivers Rowing Association is a membership organization serving people of all skill levels from a broad range of social and economic backgrounds; and,
WHEREAS, this organization is respected as a leader in the community rowing movement; and,
WHEREAS, their diverse programs have gained a national reputation for developing top-notch rowers; and,
WHEREAS, Ms. Audrey Lyda and Ms. Angelina Mico are exemplary athletes and leaders on the Three Rivers Junior Rowing team; and,
WHEREAS, Ms. Lyda and Ms. Mico hail from Shadyside and Point Breeze, respectively, and are exceptional representatives of District 8; and,
WHEREAS, on 2018 and 2019 Ms. Lyda and Ms. Mico earned their medals in both the regional and national levels in the Women’s Youth Lightweight Double; and,
WHEREAS Ms. Lyda and Ms. Mico became teammates in January 2018 where they would earn numerous medals together highlighted by earning a Gold Medal at the 2019 Midwest Regional Championship where they would go on to become national champions at the 2019 US Rowing Youth National Championship in the Women’s Youth Lightweight Double; and,
WHEREAS, this is the first National Championship for their team, Three Rivers Rowing Association; and,

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby celebrate the significant impact of Audrey Lyda and Angelina Mico, and recognizes the important contribution of the Three Rivers Rowing Association to the Pittsburgh community; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, September 10th, 2019 to be “Three Rivers Rowing Association National Champions Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.
