WHEREAS, on September 9, 2006 the Spout Fund program, Engage Pittsburgh, launched its first event, entitled Idea Round-Up; and
WHEREAS, this event brought over 300 inspired citizens, both young and old, from all over the Pittsburgh area and from all walks of life, together to think creatively as community members; and
WHEREAS, these participants, volunteers and facilitators met at CAPA High School to share, discuss and cultivate new conceptions of Pittsburgh, introducing progressive solutions and original ideas that strive to make Pittsburgh a better place for us all to live; and
WHEREAS, Engage Pittsburgh's mission to promote grassroots leadership advances a more vibrant and interactive city.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby commends and thanks the members of the Sprout Fund, as well as all the citizens who participated in and continue with the community-building and innovation that is Engage Pittsburgh.
