Title

Resolution authorizing and directing the City Solicitor and Director of Public Works to conduct an analysis and prepare a report regarding legal and administrative strategies and remedies to re-cover monetary damages from utility companies, private contractors, the PWSA and other entities that excavate city streets and impair the integrity of our the city's roadways.

Body

Be it resolved by the council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby enacts the following

Section 1.  That the City Solicitor and Director of Public Works is hereby authorized and directed to conduct an analysis and prepare a report for City Council's review and consideration regarding legal and administrative strategies and remedies to re-cover money damages from utility companies, private contractors, Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority and other entities which excavate city streets, impair the integrity of our paved roadways and fail to abide by City guidelines for road excavation, causing millions of dollars in public and personal damages and a drain on City resources.
