WHEREAS, Robert “Rob” Kaczorowski, a distinguished native of Crafton Heights and the middle child of eight, is a graduate of Saint Philip Grade School and Canevin High School, and continued his education at Robert Morris College and Point Park University, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Public Administration; and
WHEREAS, beginning his career in 1980 as a laborer in the greenhouse of the Pittsburgh Aviary, Rob exemplified perseverance and dedication as he rose through the ranks to become the Director of the Pittsburgh Department of Public Works; and
WHEREAS, he has continued his steadfast service to the Pittsburgh region as Public Works Director and Code Enforcement Officer for Crafton Borough; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Kaczorowski, rooted in a deep sense of duty and civic responsibility, has served as an Allegheny County Democratic Committeeman and as the 28th Ward Chairman, offering advocacy and leadership that have enriched community priorities and engagement; and
WHEREAS, he has made enduring contributions to youth development through his tireless involvement in local athletic organizations, coaching for the Westwood/Oakwood Athletic Association and Saint Philip Grade School Girls Basketball Team, instilling sportsmanship and teamwork in generations of young people; and
WHEREAS, Rob and his wife Susie are the proud parents of two successful daughters, and are blessed with five amazing grandchildren; and

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby recognizes and commends Robert “Rob” Kaczorowski for his exemplary public service; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh in gratitude and celebration, does hereby declare Thursday, December 11, 2025 to be “Rob Kaczorowski Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.
