Title: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend Ms. Evelyn Kozak on the occasion of her 110th birthday for her long life, rich experiences and indelible impact on our community; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh declares Tuesday, August 14, 2009, to be “Evelyn Kozak Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, Ms. Evelyn Kozak was born on August 14, 1899; and,
 
WHEREAS, the Jewish Association on Aging is hosting a celebration of Ms. Kozak's 110th birthday on August 4, 2009; and,
 
WHEREAS, last year, Ms. Evelyn Kozak, Pittsburgh's oldest person, was featured in a Pittsburgh Magazine article noting the oldest things in Allegheny County; and,
 
WHEREAS, when asked the secret to her longevity, Ms. Kozak boasts of her 5 children. They were her life's work, and she is very proud of them; and,
 
WHEREAS, Ms. Kozak also enjoys her 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; and,
 
WHEREAS, Ms. Kozak also cites her Judaism as another major source of personal strength and credits her parents with instilling in her the importance of always doing the right thing;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend Ms. Evelyn Kozak on the occasion of her 110th birthday for her long life, rich experiences and indelible impact on our community; and
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh declares Tuesday, August 14, 2009, to be "Evelyn Kozak Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.
