Title: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby honors Linda Perkins, a happily retired and genuinely sweet woman, for her accomplishment bowling a perfect 300 game, and does finally give her public recognition by declaring April 26, 2011 “Linda Perkins Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, Linda Perkins, a Fineview resident, retired in 2009 from the United States Postal Service spending 33 years based at the main post office on California Avenue as a Special Delivery Driver and her last three years as a Mail Requirements Specialist; and
 
WHEREAS, Mrs. Perkin's husband Rod, whom she's known since they were age 13, and her two children all work for the City of Pittsburgh: Rod in Public Works, Rard is a Firefighter and Kayla works with Citiparks and the Roving Art Cart; and
 
WHEREAS, Mrs. Perkins was always active with sports, especially bowling, rolling with the Monday Night Mixers on Neville Island Monday nights and the Doc Pritchard Memorial League in Kennedy Township on Wednesday evenings; and
 
WHEREAS, Mrs. Perkins found her groove on December 14, 2009, an evening for which she has not yet received public recognition, when Mrs. Perkins bowled a 300 game, a perfect game, strikes in every frame, a rarity that escapes many professional bowlers; and
 
WHEREAS, because Mrs. Perkins is such a proficient bowler, she has played in both women's and men's tournaments and with many professionals in pro-am tournaments; and
 
WHEREAS, not only does Mrs. Perkins bowl, she plays golf in a Thursday morning league in Mt. Lebanon and she rides a Hog, a Harley-Davidson Custom 1200, taking day trips with the Pittsburgh Gentleman and always wearing her helmet;
