Whereas, "Love Your Block" is a block revitalization program created to reduce blight in the City of Pittsburgh by inviting neighborhood groups from across the City to propose volunteer-led projects to transform their blocks, and, if selected by the City through a competitive process, to enter into mini-grant reimbursement agreements with the to fund these projects; and
Whereas, Peoples Gas has offered to provide grant monies to the City of Pittsburgh in order to fund selected 2016 Love Your Block projects.

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

Section 1. The Mayor, on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh, is authorized to accept a grant from Peoples Gas in the amount of Twenty-Five Thousand Dollars ($25,000.00) for the City's Love Your Block Program. Grant monies received will be deposited into 0229400171.48311.00.

Section 2. The Mayor, on behalf of the City, is hereby authorized to enter into mini-grant reimbursement agreements with selected qualified nonprofit organizations to complete block revitalization projects. The mini-grant reimbursement agreements shall be awarded in an amount not to exceed One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) per mini-grant for the initial rounds of projects for 2016 and in an amount not to exceed Two Thousand Dollars ($2,000.00) for each of two additional grants awarded to one of the selected groups for the best project each season.
