Title
Resolution providing for the City of Pittsburgh to enter into an agreement with the Carnegie Institute in order to facilitate renovation to Dinosaur Hall of the Carnegie Museum.

Body
Whereas, the Carnegie Institute, doing business as Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh, a Pennsylvania nonprofit corporation (the "Museum") is seeking to obtain a $15 million grant from the Commonwealth to undertake certain renovations to Dinosaur Hall, and

Whereas, as a condition of funding, the Commonwealth requires some evidence that the Museum has site control of the Museum Property which houses Dinosaur Hall, and

Whereas, though the City acquired and owns the Land upon which the Museum Property is situated, the Museum, acting on behalf of the City, entered the Land and built the Museum Property; and

Whereas, the Museum continues to occupy and use the Land and the Museum Property and has determined that certain improvements must be made to the Museum Property; and

Whereas, the Museum and the City seek to affirm and document their relative responsibilities related to the Museum Property for their mutual benefit and to assist the Museum in obtaining Commonwealth funding

Be it Resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

Section 1.  The Mayor and his designees are hereby authorized to enter into the Agreement(s) with the Carnegie Institute as it may relate to the above indicated planned renovation with the approval of the City Solicitor.
