Whereas, Candis "CeDee" Thomas an Author of her first novel G-Town's Finest, was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Candise is a 1994 graduate of George Westinghouse High School. She is married with one son, a beautiful little boy; and
Whereas, Ms. Thomas is striving to be among the success stories in the growing self publishing industry. Her first novel, "G-Town's Finest" is starting to attract attention. The novel tells the story of the street game through the life of a drug kingpin's family and their war with a rival clique. It tells the ups and downs of the street life with straightforward language and several surprising plot twists; and
Whereas, Ms. Thomas has been writing for over twenty years now. She started out with poetry, short stories and also children's books. Candise had to "wake up" and realize that she had a God-given talent and that 'believing in herself' is where she had to start in order to gain success.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh, does hereby recognize, applaud and commend Candise "CeDee" Thomas for her desire to explore beyond her imagination and not be afraid to place her thoughts on paper.
