Title
Ordinance amending the Pittsburgh Code, Title Six, Conduct, Article VI, Citizen Police Review Board, Section 662.04, Board Members, by re-inserting language.  
 
Body
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 29 of 1997 formally enacted the Pittsburgh Code, Title Six, Conduct, Article VI, Citizen Police Review Board,  setting forth its composition, powers and duties; and
 
WHEREAS Ord. No. 6 of 2012 amended Section 662.04 to clarify the process for vacancies ,was amended three separate times, and by no fault the final version  inadvertently omitted certain language; and,
 
WHEREAS, it is the intention of the Council to reinstate the language to keep consistent with the referendum and subsequent legislation adopted by ordinance.

The Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby enacts as follows:
 
Section 1.      The Pittsburgh Code, Title Six, Conduct, Article VI, Citizen Police Review Board, Section 662.04, Board Members is hereby amended by adding the following language:
 
Section 662.04 Board Members
 
(h)      All Board members shall be required to receive training sufficient to become familiar with police policies, procedures and training which shall include but not be limited to the Police Citizen's Academy.   Board members shall also receive training in citizen rights with regard to the police, including civil, constitutional and human rights, as well as information regarding the history and operation of other Citizen Police Review Boards.  Such training shall be provided in a timely fashion by qualified experts in each area.
