WHEREAS, Christopher Yeager from the Carrick neighborhood has been a member of Pack 224 in Carrick as well as pack 601 and Troop 6 of Brookline in the Laurel Highlands Council of the Eagle Valley District; and,

WHEREAS, he earned his first rank of Bobcat in 2011 and earned his Arrow of Light in 2016 before crossing over to Boy Scouts; and,
WHEREAS, in 2019 he was selected to be an Order of the Arrow member where he went on to hold a variety of positions including Quartermaster, Flag Coordinator, Web Master and Outdoor Ethics Guide; and,
WHEREAS, Christopher has earned several awards for academics and scouting that include the Junior Wildlife Conservation Award, STEM Achievement Award, President’s Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement, and has earned his OSHA 10, SP2 and 3 ladder certifications through Carrick High School’s CTE program; and,
WHEREAS, He currently works at Amel’s Restaurant earning several raises in the past year for his hard work, and plans to join the Carpenters Union upon graduation from Carrick High School so he can begin the steps to develop his own carpentry business; and,
WHEREAS, Christopher began completing his requirements for Eagle Scout Rank in 2021 and finished his service requirement by designing and constructing sensory garden for dogs in the Animal Friends Kennel that incorporates a variety of scents, ground coverings, and multiple areas for anxious dogs to relax; and,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commends Christopher Yeager; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, March 14th, 2023, to be “Christopher Yeager Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.
