WHEREAS, Zane Noah Aqra of Troop 109 was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout from The Boy Scouts of America; and,
WHEREAS, the Eagle Scout Award is the highest rank in Scouting of which only 4 percent of youth earn and is based on performances in the areas of responsibility, leadership, service and outdoor skills; and,
WHEREAS, for his final project to obtain Eagle Scout, Zane created a more welcoming environment at two sites owned by Oakland Planning and Development Corporation and managed by the South Oakland Neighborhood Group; and,
WHEREAS, Zane worked diligently to clean up and restore the South Oakland Orchard and revitalize Frazier Farms Community Garden with the addition of a flower bed barrier and more informative signs at each site; and,
WHEREAS, in addition, Zane cleaned the concrete and patio tiles at the Orchard which made the area more welcoming and pleasing for visitors and walkers in the neighborhood; and,

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend and congratulate Eagle Scout Zane Noah Aqra for his outstanding achievement of attaining the rank of Eagle Scout; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Saturday, January 4, 2025, to be “Zane Noah Aqra Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.
