WHEREAS, God established the vision of White Lily Baptist Church one century ago when the people of the Windgap community, formerly called Red Row, organized a church in the basements of four row houses; and,
WHEREAS, White Lily Baptist Church is a warm and welcoming church in the Windgap-Chartiers community of Pittsburgh who celebrated their 100th Anniversary on October 28, 2018; and,
WHEREAS, Rev Antawn D. Coleman, Sr. is leading this Church while striving to impact the Kingdom of Heaven for the next generation to come, with his vision “Building a Contagious Church”; and,
WHEREAS, as part of their mission to bring fellowship to communities, White Lily Baptist Church is committed to modeling the Kingdom of God as a diverse Church family making a difference not only in the Windgap-Chartiers community but surrounding neighborhoods; and,
WHEREAS, White Lily Baptist Church teaches the younger generation to believe in the authority of the scriptures as the true word of God, as written by men under the divine inspiration of God as the author and salvation as its end; and,

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby congratulate White Lily Baptist Church for its 100 years of serving the Pittsburgh community; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare, October 28, 2018, to be “White Lily Baptist Church Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.
