Title: WHEREAS, the 62nd Annual Amen Corner's Judicial Reception recognizes the Honorable Christine A. Ward as the recipient of the prestigious Judge Robert E. Dauer award for Judicial Leadership and Excellence; and,

WHEREAS, the 62nd Annual Amen Corner's Judicial Reception recognizes the Honorable Christine A. Ward as the recipient of the prestigious Judge Robert E. Dauer award for Judicial Leadership and Excellence; and,

WHEREAS, Judge Ward graduated Phi Beta Kappa, summa cum laude, from Washington and Jefferson College and with honors from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law; and,

WHEREAS, she practiced law for 20 years before being elected to a ten-year term on the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County in November of 2003. She is currently one of two judges sitting in the Court's Center for Commerce and Complex Litigation and she is also the Administrative Judge of the Civil Division; and,

WHEREAS, she has served on numerous committees and currently serves as a member of the Business Law Section's M & A Litigation Joint Task Force, the Business and Corporation Litigation Committee, the Judges' Initiative Committee, the Dean's Strategic Initiatives Committee, and is a member of and Past President of the American College of Business Court Judges. Judge Ward also serves as Vice-chair for the Diversity Clerkship Committee and serves on the Legislative Committee of the Pennsylvania Conference of State Trial Judges, of which she was also Past President; and,

WHEREAS, Judge Ward is on the Board of the Law School Alumni Association and serves or has served as a member of the Board of Directors of WQED Multimedia, the Salvation Army of Greater Pittsburgh, the University of Pittsburgh Law Alumni Association, the Rankin Christian Center, the YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh, Persad Center and the Pittsburgh Chapter of the ACLU; and,

WHEREAS, she is the recipient of numerous awards including most recently the Allegheny County Bar Foundation Pro Bono Achievement Award for her work with the Name Change Project, the Judicial Services Award for initiating the Allegheny County Housing Court and in 2023 the "Most Valuable Peacemaker" (MVP) Award from the Pennsy...
