Resolution providing for the filing of an application or applications by the City of Pittsburgh with the U.S. Department of Labor and/or Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for a grant or grants in connection with the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) funding for activities authorized under the Workforce Investment Act of 1998 (WIA)

Providing for the execution of grant contracts and for the filing of requisitions and other data; providing authorization for the Workforce Investment Board and the City of Pittsburgh to enter into agreements authorized by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) as it relates to the Workforce Investment Act of 1998 (WIA), as amended;
Providing for required assurances; providing for execution of payment vouchers and of certification of authorized signatures; providing for a contract or contracts with various agencies/employers for services and programs related to training and employment for Workforce Investment Act of 1998 (WIA) funding within the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA); and providing for the deposit of funds into a bank account.
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:
Section 1. The Mayor and the City of Pittsburgh is hereby authorized to file an application or
applications in the form required by the U.S. Department of Labor and/or Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in connection with the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) as it relates to the Workforce Investment Act of 1998 (WIA) in order for a grant or grants to be made in connection with the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) as it relates to the Workforce Investment Act of 1998 (WIA).
