Title
Ordinance amending the Pittsburgh Code, Title 6, Conduct, Article III, Dogs, Cats and Other Animals, Chapter 633 Dogs & Cats, Section 633.06, (a) 1 and 2 by increasing fees.
 
Body
WHEREAS, be it said that the existing fees have not changed since 1993; and the types and number of aggressive dogs have significantly increased since 1993.  
 
WHEREAS, the fee schedules shall be set forth in the Animal Control Regulations promulgated by the Department of Public Works.
 
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:
 
Section 1.  Amending the Pittsburgh Code, Title 6, Conduct, Article III, Dogs, Cats and Other Animals, Chapter 633 Dogs & Cats, Section 633.06, (a) 1 and 2 by increasing fees.
 
 The Dog License Fee for 2005 shall be:
 
(a) Before a license is issued, fee shall be paid to the City Treasurer or his or her authorized agent according to the following schedule:
 
      1.  [Twelve Dollars ($12.00)] Fifteen Dollars ($15.00) for unspayed female or unneutered male dogs.
 
      2.  [Seven Dollars ($7.00)] Ten Dollars ($10.00) for spayed female or neutered male dogs or those that are certified by a veterinarian to be incapable of breeding or being bred, or those less than six (6) months of age.  Proof of the animal being spayed, neutered or unable to breed or be bred, in certificate form from a veterinarian, shall be required to receive this reduced fee.
