WHEREAS, each year, the Arlington Civic Council recognizes outstanding organizations, in their community; and
WHEREAS, South Side Baseball is this year's honoree, for their dedicated service to the children of the Arlington Neighborhood of Pittsburgh; and
WHEREAS, they are being recognized today for their enthusiastic and commitment to all that is involved in organizing a youth baseball program; and
WHEREAS, South Side Baseball achieved their goal, this year, of building a concession stand and a state of the art Little League field for the boys and girls who have travelled through the organization; and
WHEREAS, the members of this all volunteer organization have spent countless hours providing direction and lessons in sportsmanship and life.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh, does, hereby, recognize and commend South Side Baseball for their dedication and service to the boys and girls of Arlington.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does, hereby, proclaim Monday, June 07, 2010, to be South Side Baseball Day in the City of Pittsburgh.
