Title: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Pittsburgh City Council lauds The Pittsburgh Project for sharing with our city the outstanding, innovative and inspiring work of "Re Rite" as performed by New York University theatre students on Saturday, June 4, 2005.

Whereas, The Pittsburgh Project (The Project) sponsored a group of New York University theatre students who culminated a workshop for Northside youth on Saturday, June 4, 2005 with their Pittsburgh debut of "Re Rites," a hip hop play, to a packed audience at The Projects performing art space; and
 
Whereas, "Re Rites," a story, utilizes various hip hop genre to illustrate life struggles  in the inner city from the cultural perspective of 30 artists who represent the African American, Latino, Indian, Jewish and Arab perspective, closing with a standing ovation.
