Title: WHEREAS, the Ateleta Women's Society was organized 63 years ago in the Bloomfield Neighborhood of the City of Pittsburgh by women from Ateleta, Abruzzi Italy, who wished to share and enrich their Italian Heritage on American soil through traditions, strength of character and organizational skills; and WHEREAS, the officers, trustees and members have provided the stability that has allowed longevity of the organization to be maintained for over six decades; and WHEREAS, a tribute to their cause is paid today to President Karen Cercone, Officers Romilda Sebastian, Yolanda Casiato, Jean Ricci, Iva Rossi, and Anna Buccigrossi and Trustees Mary Allen Haredis, Tina LeDonne, Lydia LeDonne and Vanessa Turpin.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh salutes the women of Ateleta, Abruzzi for their dedication and accomplishments in their contributions, distinguished leadership and service in enriching Italian-American Culture and Heritage in the City of Pittsburgh; and
 
NOW BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that April 18, 2004 be hereby declared "Ateleta Women's Society Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.
