Title
Resolution authorizing the Mayor and the Directors of the Departments of Public Works and Parks and Recreation to enter into an agreement or agreements with the Carnegie Museum of Natural History to permit the installation of a temporary art exhibition on public property owned by or regulated by the city.  
 
Body
      WHEREAS, City is charged with the duty of operating and maintaining parklands of the City and with regulating activities occurring within the public rights-of-way located within the City; and
 
      WHEREAS, the Museum desires a permit to install and maintain a temporary art exhibition of fiberglass dinosaurs as hereinafter defined (the "Exhibition") at various sites under the jurisdiction of the City ("the Sites") to promote and publicize both public art and the City's international reputation for scientific excellence; and
 
      WHEREAS, City intends to designate the aforementioned Exhibition as a limited public forum; and  
 
      WHEREAS, the Art Commission of the City of Pittsburgh has given approval for the Exhibition; and
 
      WHEREAS, City and Museum desire to enter into an agreement specifying rights and obligations with respect to the installation, operation and maintenance of the Exhibition;
 
 
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:
 
Section 1.  The Mayor and the Directors of the Departments of Public Works and Parks are hereby authorized to enter into an agreement or agreements with the Museum to set forth the duties and responsibilities of the parties with respect to the installation, operation, and maintenance of the Exhibition. The final Agreement shall be in a form approved by the City Solicitor.
 
Section 2.
 
The Agreement shall include among its terms the following condition:
 
All Site locations on public property or within the public right of way shall be subject to the approval of the Directors of the Departments of Public Works and Parks.
