WHEREAS, Get Involved!, Inc. provides leadership and development programs designed to engage, energize, educate, and empower students, young professionals, and lifelong learners to make a positive difference in their communities and to become civically engaged; and
WHEREAS, Get Involved!, Inc. will present their annual Pittsburgh Leadership Awards on Wednesday, April 4th at Carlow University; and
WHEREAS, the Pittsburgh Leadership Awards recognize the good works of community leaders around the City who are working hard to make a difference; and
WHEREAS, the 2012 awardees are as follows: Bill Flanagan, Man of the Year, Joyce Rothermel, Woman of the Year, Kevin Ramser, Male Rising Star, Allyce Pinchback, Female Rising Star, George Savarese, Dr. Tom Baker Community Leader, Diane Hartman, and Patty Verostko Award for Child Advocacy; and
WHEREAS, the 2012 Western Pennsylvania Rising Star awardees are: Michele Cahill, Becky Cech, Tim Cook, Becky Dowling, Emily Ecker, Kristina Elias, State Representative Eli Evankovich, Justin Forzano, Maggie Graham, Kim Hanson, Eric Junstrom, Ashley Kunkle, Dawn Meling, Tom Menditto, Campbell Minister, Councilman Corey O'Connor, Lee Anne Pontis, Doug Smith, Britaini Watterson, Colin White, and Katherine Young.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize the 2012 Get Involved!, Inc. Pittsburgh Leadership Awardees for their community to community service and the difference they are making in our city; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare April 4th to be "Get Involved, Inc. Pittsburgh Leadership Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.
