Resolution authorizing the Mayor and Director of the Department of Mobility and Infrastructure, on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh (“City”), to enter into an Agreement with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (“PennDOT”) to receive certain Grant Monies for the Safe Routes to School Project through the Transportation Set-Aside Program; and further authorizing an agreement or agreements to expend these Grant monies toward completion of the Safe Routes to School Project.

Whereas the Transportation Set Aside Program is a competitive state grant program that provides assistance to municipalities for the purposes of creating safe and appealing alternatives to single occupant vehicle travel; and
Whereas the Safe Routes to School Program is a national movement to encourage non-vehicle trips to and from school for students of all ages; and
Whereas the City wishes to receive certain Grant Monies from the Transportation Set Aside Program in order to implement a Safe Routes to School Program; and
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:
Section 1. The Mayor and the Director of the Department of Mobility and Infrastructure, on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh, are hereby authorized to enter into an Agreement with PennDOT to receive certain Grant Monies to be used toward the Safe Routes to School Project. The City shall deposit these grant monies, amounting to $464,011.00 into the following account: 6029400275.50000.00.
Section 2. The Mayor and the Director of the Department of Mobility and Infrastructure, on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh are hereby authorized to enter into an agreement or agreements to acquire goods and services in support of Safe Routes to School Project. Such agreements shall in aggregate be in an amount not to exceed $464,011.00, chargeable and payable from the following account: 6029400275.50000.00
