WHEREAS, on October 23, 2008, Louis B. Kushner will celebrate 40 years of service with Rothman Gordon, P.C.; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Kushner is a mediator for several national organizations and has mediated over 250 cases; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Kushner has been selected as one of The Best Lawyers In America, a publication which lists lawyers considered by their peers to be the most outstanding attorneys in their area of specialty, in every edition since its inception in 1987; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Kushner has been named a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer for 2008 and one of the Top 100 Pennsylvania Super Lawyers for 2008; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Kushner has authored more than 50 scholarly articles published in both general circulation newspapers and professional journals; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Kushner has served on the boards of many organizations, including the Pittsburgh Marathon, the United Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh, PERSAD Center, Inc., the Greater Pittsburgh Chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union, and Family Services of Western Pennsylvania.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT, the Council of the City of Pittsburgh thanks Louis B. Kushner for his years of service to Rothman Gordon, P.C. and the Pittsburgh community; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby declares October 23, 2008 "Louis B. Kushner Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.
