Title
Ordinance amending and supplementing the Pittsburgh City Code, Title Six ("Conduct"), Article III ("Dogs, Cats and Other Animals") Section No. 633.12, Ord. No. 29-1992, eff. 7-16-92; Ord. No. 22-2010, ? 3, eff. 7-16-10, to provide for an exemption to the 5 pet limit to qualified people or residences performing foster care and placement work with animals.

Body
WHEREAS, the City's Department of Safety, Bureau of Animal Care & Control website currently refers to said exemption permit; and
WHEREAS, the City Code Section No. 633.12 does not currently refer to said exemption permit; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Public Safety, Bureau of Animal Care & Control, seeks to codify the public's opportunity to obtain said exemption by amending and supplementing City Code Section No. 633.12.

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:
Section 1. The Pittsburgh City Code, Title Six ("Conduct"), Article III ("Dogs, Cats and Other Animals") Section No. 633.12, Ord. No. 29-1992, eff. 7-16-92; Ord. No. 22-2010, ? 3, eff. 7-16-10, is hereby amended and supplemented as follows:

Section 633.12 "Number of Pets Permitted in City Limits; Exceptions"

(a) Except for qualified people or residences performing foster care and/or placement work with animals, no person or residence shall be permitted to own, harbor or maintain more than five (5) dogs or cats or any combination thereof within City limits. For said exemption to apply, any qualified persons or residences performing foster care and placement work with animals must obtain an Exemption Permit from the Department of Public Safety, Bureau of Animal Care & Control. The sufficiency of an applicant's qualifications for said Exemption Permit shall be determined by the Supervisor of the City Bureau of Animal Care & Control or her designee.
