WHEREAS, Allderdice High School, the largest of the Pittsburgh Public School’s urban high schools, has drawn students from nine diverse communities and offers academic programs at all levels, complimented by a full range of interscholastic, intramural and co-curricular clubs; and,
WHEREAS, Allderdice High School has a history of pride and commitment in its sports endeavors and the Allderdice Girls Volleyball Team has brought this pride once again to the Allderdice community; and,
WHEREAS, through skilled and dedicated coaching and through individual commitment, hard work and team loyalty, the Allderdice Girls Volleyball Team posted an overall winning record , winning all Sectional games and defeating Brashear High School in the Finals and making this their 6th City League Championship in a row. They qualifiied for the State Playoff Tournament and even though they lost in the first round, they played better and harder than they had during any game that season; and,
WHEREAS, the team, led by Head Coach Maiti Keen and Assistant Coach Rich O’Brien, consisted Senior and Captain Emily Graham, Senior Aja Jackson, Senior Ariana Murrell, Senior Torrie Komoroski, Junior Elana Kolko, Junior Starr Wasler, Junior Ella Rubenstein, Junior Ally Friedman, Sophomore Libby Rubenstein, Sophomore Julia DiPietro-Harvey, Sophomore Sofi Baker and Sophomore Maggie Loya

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize the hard work and commitment shown by the Allderdice Girls Volleyball Team and commends the trust and dedication shown by the Coaches and congratulates them on winning the City League Championship for the 6th consecutive year; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, February 25, 2020 to be “ ALLDERDICE GIRLS VOLLEYBALL CITY LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP DAY” in the City of Pittsburgh.
