Title: WHEREAS, Animal Friends is Southwestern Pennsylvania's premier companion animal resource center committed to building, nurturing and respecting the human-animal bond and creating a community where a relationship with companion animals is guided by compassion; and, WHEREAS, the mission of Animal Friends is to provide for the well-being of companion animals in need while adhering to a no-kill tradition while finding loving homes, to act as an advocate on behalf of animals and enforcer of their rights and protections, to reduce animal overpopulation through educations and programs, to promote a bond of mutual assistance between people and animals and instill respect for , and appreciation of ,all living beings; and, WHEREAS, Animal Friends officially took residence of their new home called the Caryl Gates Gluck Resource Center in Ohio Township in the spring of 2006 where this state of the art facility features creative kenneling, a state of the art medical center and surgical suite...

WHEREAS, Animal Friends will be presenting MUTT STRUT, a fun filled day and fundraiser which will feature a 1.5 mile walk along the North Shore with your dog, an amateur dog show, a vendor village, an adoption area and a live concert by the Beagle Brothers ;and,
 
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize the important work of Animal Friends and encourages residents of the city of Pittsburgh to attend MUTT STRUT; and
 
NOW THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declares May 12, 2007, to be  MUTT STRUT DAY  in the City of Pittsburgh.
