Title
Resolution authorizing the Director of the Finance Department to enter into a contract or contracts, or agreement or agreements, from time to time, as needed, with professional accounting consultants for the provision of professional services in the nature of audits of the various grant or award monies received by the City, as required by the providers of the grants and awards, for the years 2002, 2003 and 2004;

Body
WHEREAS, the City is the recipient from time to time of various grants and awards; and

WHEREAS, the providers of such grants and awards require independent and individual audits of the use by the City of the monies from such grants and awards; and

WHEREAS, the City considers it desirable to provide to various accounting firms qualified and competent to do so the opportunity to perform such audits; and

WHEREAS, the qualifications and competence of any consultant accounting firm to perform any such audit will be determined from its/ their responses to a Request for Qualifications ("RFQ") to be issued by the Director of the Department of Finance;

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PITTSBURGH AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1. The Mayor and the Director of the Department of Finance, on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh, are hereby authorized to enter into a contract or contracts, or agreement or agreements, from time to time, as needed, for the years 2002, 2003 and 2004, with professional accounting consultants for the provision of professional services in the nature of audits of the various grant or award monies received by the City, which audits are required by the providers of the grants and awards;
