Whereas, from June 15^th, 2005 through June 27^th, 2005, the Slavjane Folk Ensemble will be traveling and performing around the Republic of Slovakia, including the Sister City to the City of Pittsburgh, Presov, Slovakia; and

WHEREAS, the Slavjane Folk Ensemble is a dynamic, dedicated group of over 60 young performers from ages 6 to 18; and

Whereas, the Slavjane Folk Ensemble tirelessly rehearse throughout the year and display their representation of the Slavic heritage and culture; and

Whereas, Slavjane Folk Ensemble has performed extensively throughout the Pittsburgh and Tri-State areas along with performances at Epcot Center in Florida, in Washington D.C., and in the former Czechoslovakia;  and

WHEREAS, the heritage of the Slavjane Folk Ensemble is a rich legacy lovingly passed on from generation to generation and is truly a cherished bond between the past, the present and future;
