WHEREAS, the Squirrel Hill Baseball Association is dedicated to helping children learn about baseball, softball and life. Devoted to the values of character, courage and loyalty, it is committed to promoting these values on and off the field; and,
WHEREAS, on the weekend of July 28-29, 2018, the Squirrel Hill Baseball Association will host the Oakville A’s from the Central Ontario Baseball Association; and,
WHEREAS, the Central Ontario Baseball Association is a 55 year old organization in the Canadian Federation of Amateur Baseball. Their players are 8-12 year olds and 4-13 year olds in a solid, established a program of baseball skills, experiences and life lessons for their children; and,
WHEREAS, the Oakville A’s Pony League Team will play the Squirrel Hill Pony League Team on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 6PM and 8PM at Mellon Field in Shadyside. The Oakville A’s Little League will play the Squirrel Hill Little League on Sunday at 9AM and 11 AM at the Stan Lederman Field in Frick Park. The Oakville A’s will be the recipients of a presentation of Pittsburgh Steeler Terrible Towels at these games; and,

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby give a hearty Pittsburgh Welcome to the Oakville A’s of the Central Ontario Baseball Association and to their Manager, John Lowe, and wishes them a great experience in the United States and especially in Pittsburgh, PA.
