Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize and congratulate Irene Louik, Esther Schwartz, Bertha Borsch, and Selma Stein who are all 100 years old and Margaret Reich who is 102 years, Albert Schwartz who is 103 years and Rose Platt who is 104 years old.

WHEREAS, the Jewish Association on Aging offers a comprehensive network of social, residential, rehabilitation, medical and nutritional services that are developed and implemented in accordance with Jewish values and gives the elderly the opportunity to age with dignity; and,
 
WHEREAS, in the healthy environment of the JAA, residents are socially engaged, well-nourished and emotionally, physically and spiritually fulfilled; and,    
 
WHEREAS, the Jewish Association on Aging is proud to have 7 people who have reached or surpassed the age of 100; and,
 
WHEREAS, these residents have been able to see and experience some of the world's most amazing progress and accomplishments in this century like television, the Salk Vaccine, invention of cell phones, the Civil Rights Movement to the election of an African American President as well as the last time the Pirates won the World Series.
