Resolution authorizing the Mayor and the Director of the Department of Public Works, to enter into an Agreement or Agreements, or the use of existing Agreements, between the City of Pittsburgh and Carin Mincemoyer, for the creation and installation of public art at South Side Park, at a cost not to exceed Twenty-Four Thousand Dollars ($24,000.00).

WHEREAS, South Side Park is currently undergoing renovations as a project of the Department of Public Works, according to the goals of the park’s published Master Plan; and
WHEREAS, the budget for Phase 1 of this renovation includes funds for the inclusion of a new piece of public art to be made onsite; and
WHEREAS, the Department of City Planning includes a Public Art & Civic Design division that administers the implementation of City of Pittsburgh public art projects; and
WHEREAS, on September 21, 2020, the Office of Management and Budget, on behalf of the Department of Public Works and the Public Art & Civic Design Division, released Request for Proposals to solicit for the coordination of the design, fabrication, and installation of this public art project; and
WHEREAS, a selection committee chose Carin Mincemoyer for the public art project implementation.
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:
Section 1. The Mayor and the Director of the Department of Public Works, to enter into an Agreement or Agreements, or the use of existing Agreements, between the City of Pittsburgh and Carin Mincemoyer, for the creation and installation of public art at South Side Park. The total not to exceed cost is Twenty-Four Thousand Dollars ($24,000.00).
Funds are available in the Park Reconstruction (BOND) line item, 2020 DELIVERABLE:
