WHEREAS, Ms. Idella L. Michaels, daughter of the late Dr. LH Green, the founder of Greens Temple Church, carries forth her father’s tradition of dedication, faith and service to others as administrator of Greens Temple Church; and,
WHEREAS, through her guidance and professionalism, Ms. Michaels has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to supporting her church, its members and those who serve within the organization, as she has led with integrity, compassion and wisdom to ensure the success of the Church’s numerous programs, initiatives and services; and,
WHEREAS, Ms. Michaels leadership style reflects genuine concern for the well-being and growth of others, fostering an environment where teamwork, collaboration and mutual respect are encouraged and valued, always empowering those around her; and,
WHEREAS, in addition to her service within the church, Ms. Michaels also served as a City Investigator for more than 30 years, having always demonstrated a high level of professionalism, fairness and integrity, exemplifying the values of accountability, respect and excellence that continue to define her leadership style to this day; and,
WHEREAS, for her outstanding contributions, tireless dedication and unwavering commitment to serving others, we commend Ms. Michaels for her lifelong devotion to helping others and leaving an enduring mark on countless lives, an inspiration to all who have had the privilege of knowing and working alongside her;

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare June 30, 2026 to be “Idella L. Michaels Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.
