WHEREAS, born on May 6, 1923 and raised in the Hazelwood area for the first 20 years of her life before moving to Jefferson Boro, Ceil Shuback will be celebrating her 90th birthday with friends and loving family in Charlotte, NC; and,
WHEREAS, Ceil Shuback was married to Wil, a wonderful man and devoted husband and father, for almost 69 years. They shared seven children, eight grandchildren, and five great grandchildren; and,
WHEREAS, once a stay-at-home mom, full-time bookkeeper for her husband's TV Radio Repair business, and a volunteer at Jefferson Hospital, Ceil Shuback is a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend who excels at having fun and doing the Harlem Shake. She also enjoys reading the bible with a glass of wine and spending time with the company others; and,
WHEREAS, Ceil Shuback has been able to see and experience some of the world's most amazing progress and accomplishments in this century like television, the Salk Vaccine, invention of cell phones and computers, the Civil Rights Movement to the election of an African American President as well as the last time the Pirates won the World Series.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby congratulate Ceil Shuback for her length of years and vitality of spirit and sends birthday wishes on the occasion of her 90th birthday; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare May 6, 2013 to be "CEIL SHUBACK DAY" in the City of Pittsburgh.
