Title: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby recognizes The James A. Garfield Republican Club to be a civic and/or service organization within the context of the Pennsylvania Small Games of Chance Act, as amended.

WHEREAS, The James A. Garfield Republican Club is a non-profit organization organized as a civic and social organization for the purpose of social enjoyment, literary attainments, and education in political economy, existing proudly in their building at 1131-1133 Woods Run Avenue, in the Brightwood area of the City of Pittsburgh; and
WHEREAS, The James A. Garfield Republican Club holds a legal charter granted and instituted in 1897, being incorporated under the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania on May 31, 1897, and remaining in continuous operation since that time; and
 
WHEREAS, The James A. Garfield Republican Club wishes to provide small games of chance to its members and guests, as such discretionary function is provided for in its bylaws under the aeges of its directors and officers;
