WHEREAS, we honor the young students that have shown remarkable dedication to their community through service; and
WHEREAS, these young students exhibits the very best, overcoming the peer pressures and negative influences to become positive, caring role models in the community; and
WHEREAS, during her senior year, Samirah will record over 100 hours of service to her community and school. Some organizations that the Samirah volunteered at are the Vintage Senior Citizen Center, Harriet Tubman Assisted Living Center and the Highland Park Rehabilitation Center; and
WHEREAS, at Peabody Samirah works as a student office helper. In addition she spends her summers volunteering at her church, Rodman Street Baptist, working with their summer youth program and loves to sing.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh recognize and commends Samirah Treadwell for her outstanding contributions to the community in the City of Pittsburgh at such a young age.
