Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize Style Week Pittsburgh and the team from Style & Steel for their work in enhancing Pittsburgh's cultural climate, advancing the cause of local entrepreneurs and designers, and offering a unique opportunity for local residents to partake in fashion-centric events; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare August 5, 2013 to be “Style Week Pittsburgh” in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, Style Week Pittsburgh has been created by Style & Steel as a vehicle to springboard Pittsburgh front and center onto the world stage of high fashion; and
 
WHEREAS, Style Week Pittsburgh, held August 7th through 11th 2013, will provide a five star celebration of fashion and style in some of the city's premier venues during five days of fashion-focused events; and
 
WHEREAS, six unique events beginning with a Red Carpet Launch at Perlé in Market Square, will combine the fashion, beauty, and diversity of local designers, stylists, and models in a landmark celebration designed to elevate Pittsburgh's profile within the fashion world; and
 
WHEREAS, Style Week Pittsburgh's signature fashion focused events will illuminate the city of Pittsburgh under the international fashion spotlight while enhancing fashion awareness and inclusion within the region.
