Body

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

 

Section 1.  The Mayor and the Director of the Department of Parks and Recreation, on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh, are hereby authorized to enter into a contract or contracts, agreement or agreements, or the use of existing contracts or agreements for the implementation of a Park Ranger Program.  Park Rangers are public servants entrusted with and committed to the care and protection of the natural, cultural, and recreational resources. Park Rangers will help to protect the park lands and cultural heritage, wilderness settings and provide for the safety of the City parks visitors within the City of Pittsburgh.  The Park Rangers will manage resources to assure each park visitor a quality experience. The total cost shall not exceed Seventy Five Thousand ($75,000.00) Dollars, and shall be chargeable to and payable from Account 526100 Fund 1000, Organization 500000, Sub/Class 150, Budget Year 2002 in the Department of Parks and Recreation.
