WHEREAS, Imani Christian Academy is a private Christian School. Located in the East Hills of Pittsburgh. Imani Christian Academy is comprised of an Elementary, Middle, and High School; and

WHEREAS, Imani Christian Academy's mission is to serve all students, especially the underserved, transforming them spiritually, academically, socially, and physically and launching them into lives of service and contribution; and
WHEREAS, this year the Imani Boys' Basketball Teams were once again Section Champions and WPIAL Champions. On Thursday March 21, 2024 earned them a place in WPIAL history adding their name to a short list of District 7 schools to repeat as state champions; and
WHEREAS, the Imani Boys' Basketball Team has the unique distinction of winning consecutive WPIAA Championships and achieved the rare distinction of also winning consecutive PIAA State Championships in 2023 and 2024; and
The Champions: Markus Williams, Ross King, Robert Sledge, Kylan Holmes, Tristen Brown, Avery Wesley, Desan Gordon, Nathan Brazil, Deston Hubbard, Dayshaun Burnett, I’Zayah Bradshaw, David Compton, Cameron Rice, Braylon Green, Donovan Gordon, and Che’Von Allen. The Coaches: Head Coach Khayree Wilson. Assistant Coaches: Anwan Wesley, Gerald Warrick III, Evan Scott, and Derek Taylor. Athletic Director Clifford Simon Jr, and CEO & Head of School, Paulo Nzambi.
NOW, THEREFORE, Ed Gainey, Mayor of the City of Pittsburgh, R. Daniel Lavelle, President of City Council, and Khari Mosley, District 9 City Councilman do hereby proclaim May 29, 2024, Imani Christian Academy Boys' Basketball Championship Day in the City of Pittsburgh. We also proclaim on this day, May 29, 2024, that the Imani Christian Academy Boys' Basketball Team has earned the respect and admiration of the City of Pittsburgh and the State of Pennsylvania for its outstanding and exceptional achievements.
