Title

Resolution vacating a portion of old First Avenue (formerly Greenough Street), in the First Ward, 6th Council District, of the City of Pittsburgh.

Body     

WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 798 of 2002, approved November 27, 2002, effective December 5, 2002, the City of Pittsburgh ("City") was authorized to enter into an Agreement for the grant of an easement to the owners of the Try Street Terminal ("Try Street"), located on First Avenue, in the First Ward of the City, and further providing for the future vacation of the portion of old First Avenue (formerly Greenough Street), located immediately south of and abutting the Try Street property; and

WHEREAS, execution of  the Agreement and grant of easement authorized by Resolution 798 have been effectuated; and

WHEREAS, the Agreement provides that the City shall vacate the aforesaid portion of old First Avenue (formerly Greenough Street), thereby vesting title in the northerly one-half (1/2) thereof in Try Street and the southerly one-half (1/2) thereof in the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh, which shall convey its one-half (1/2) interest to Try Street.

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh, as follows:

Section 1.  All those certain parcels of land situate in the 1^st Ward of the City, County of Allegheny, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, being more particularly described in Exhibit A and Exhibit B hereto, are hereby vacated.
