Resolution further amending Resolution No. 448 of 1996 effective June 21, 1996, as amended by 978 of 1996, effective January 1, 1996, as amended by resolution 1013 of 1996, effective January 1, 1997, authorizing the Director of Public Works, to establish a fee schedule for the collection of non recyclable waste from certain institutions, by changing the rates thereof.
Body
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

Section 1. Section 1 of Resolution No. 1013 of 1996, effective January 1, 1997, as amended, which presently reads as per Exhibit 1.

Is hereby amended to read as per Exhibit 2.


Section 2. The Director of Public Works is hereby authorized and directed to maintain a system for the collection of said fees, and the Director of Public Works may raise the collection fees by up to 3% each January 1.

Section 3. The fees as set forth in this Resolution shall take effect on January 1, 2003.


Exhibit 1

The fee schedule for refuse pickup applies to the following institutions:

Apartments (defined as multi-family dwellings including those owned by the Housing Authority of the City of Pittsburgh), Religious Institutions, Civic Organizations, Public Schools, Private Schools, Libraries, and Government Offices. Any other customers utilizing dumpster service provided by the Bureau of Environmental Services will be subject to the fee schedule.

The monthly fee for regularly scheduled weekly collection and/or for additional containers is:

Each dumpster holding up to 2 cubic yards: $15.00 per month for one pickup per week.

Each dumpster holding 2.1 to 4 cubic yards: $30.00 per month for one pickup per week.

Each dumpster holding 4.1 to 6 cubic yards: $45.00 per month for one pickup per week.

Each 32 gallon container: $3.00 per month for one pickup per week.
