• Title: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby congratulates the Westwood Pony Team on winning the Mayor's Cup Championship and commends them for their determination and ending their season on such a positive note.

WHEREAS, the Westwood Pony Team won their first ever Mayor's Cup Championship on August 1, 2008 at Heinz Field; and

WHEREAS, Westwood won the Championship Game in grand fashion, coming back from five runs down to win 7 - 6 in the last inning against an undefeated Greenfield team; and

WHEREAS, Westwood finished their regular season with a record of 6 - 4 - 2    and were the 8^th seed in the Mayor's Cup Playoffs, but defeated the 12^th seed Duquesne, upset the #1 seed Mt. Washington and won the Championship by beating the #5 seed; and

WHEREAS, the team was lead by Manager, Bill Greer and coaches Joe Tersak, Brian Fitzpatrick, Ed Lee, Dan Craig and Bob Marshall; and

WHEREAS, the team consisted of Billy Greer, Nick Lang, Cody Pilch, Patrick Fitzpatrick, Jordan Lee, Tyler Craig, Jim Tersak, Steve Lucot, Chris Halliday, Cassidy Richardson and J.R. Marshall.
