Title: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby recognizes Ralph Papa as he receives the Fred E. Obley Award for Business Leadership and Excellence; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Wednesday, November 29, 2006, as Ralph Papa Day in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, the Amen Corner has been a fixture in Pittsburgh and Allegheny County for over 136 years, providing networking resources and the opportunity to confer on politics, economy, taxes, local development and business.
 
WHEREAS, the Amen Corner boasts over 400 members in the Western Pennsylvania region and recognizes exemplary volunteers and leadership every year at its annual Holiday Reception and Annual Meeting.
 
WHEREAS, the Amen Corner will hold its Holiday Reception and Annual Meeting on November 29, 2006, at the Duquesne Club, when it will honor Mr. Ralph Papa, its outgoing President Don Ickert and a local college student.
 
WHEREAS, Ralph Papa will receive the Fred E. Obley Award for Business
Leadership and Excellent.  Mr. Papa is President of Citizens Bank of Pennsylvania and as a leader in the Pittsburgh business and banking community, he has distinguished himself by serving on many community initiatives and non-profit boards.  Honored and recognized by a myriad of business, social service and community organizations, the Amen Corner is privileged to honor Ralph Papa with the distinguished Fred E. Obley Award.
