Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby honor, posthumously, the late Edward B. Dunlap, Jr. and Anna Billante Dunlap for their exceptional contributions to business, faith, family, and philanthropy in Pittsburgh and across North America, and thanks the Dunlap family for carrying on their legacy through the Dunlap Family Foundation; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby s declare Saturday, September 13, 2025 to be the late "Edward and Anna Billante Dunlap Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, Edward B. Dunlap, Jr. married Anna Billante on September 5, 1970, at the LeMont Restaurant-a location that would hold lasting significance in their lives, as they would go on to purchase it in 1999; and,

WHEREAS, Mr. Dunlap, a proud U.S. Coast Guard veteran and visionary entrepreneur, founded CentiMark Corporation in 1968 with just $1,000 and transformed it into a billion-dollar commercial roofing and flooring company, the largest in North America, headquartered in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania; and,

WHEREAS, Anna Billante Dunlap, born and raised in Pittsburgh's Strip District, played a pivotal role alongside her husband in the family's many business ventures, helping to build and manage a portfolio of over 75 businesses, including NPI, Inc. and the iconic LeMont Restaurant on Mt. Washington; and,

WHEREAS, Edward and Anna Dunlap were not only renowned for their entrepreneurial spirit, but also widely respected for their remarkable philanthropy in Pittsburgh and beyond. Their enduring generosity is reflected in major contributions such as The Dunlap Family Outpatient Center at St. Clair Health and The Dunlap Family Athletic & Recreation Center at Saint Vincent College-lasting symbols of their unwavering commitment to the community; and,

WHEREAS, in 2024, their impactful support led to the renaming of the former REAM Recreation Center as The Dunlap Family Center, honoring their instrumental role in its renovation. Their contributions helped fund the installation of a new gymnasium floor, significant infrastructure upgrades, and the creation of a new outdoor playground. Additionally, their efforts ensured the preservation of the REAM Pool, preventing its closure; and,

WHEREAS, their legacy of business excellence, Catholic faith, and community investment continues through their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, as well as the many associates and lives they uplifted throughout their lifetime; and,
