WHEREAS, Tyrone Clark was employed with the City of Pittsburgh Department of Public Works from May 14, 2001 until he retired on February 16, 2023; and,

WHEREAS, Tyrone Clark was a dedicated servant to the City of Pittsburgh working his way up from Laborer to a Streets Maintenance Supervisor; and,
WHEREAS, Tyrone Clark received the first ever Sophie Masloff Employee of the Month award in January 2018, following a true display of dedication to the residents and guests of the City of Pittsburgh when he worked a 12-hour shift due to a snow event despite the recent passing of his mother; and,
WHEREAS, Tyrone Clark was admired by his peers and supervisors who often commended him on his positivity and meticulous work ethic; and,
WHEREAS, Tyrone Clark now volunteers at the Center for Family Excellence in the Hill District where he helps families survive and thrive amid adversity and distress; and,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize Tyrone Clark for his years of dedication to the safety and well-being of the residents and guests of the City of Pittsburgh; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare, Thursday, May 25, 2023 to be “Tyrone Clark Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.
