Resolution authorizing the Mayor and the Director of the Department of Public Works (“DPW”) and/or the Director of the Department of Finance to enter into an Agreement or Agreements with the Student Conservation Association (“SCA”) for the purpose of volunteer services provided by the SCA, resulting in improving the City of Pittsburgh’s (“City”) environmental conservation, at no cost to the City.

WHEREAS, the SCA runs a variety of programming throughout the year, performing routine trail maintenance, tree planting, and invasive species removal; and

 

WHEREAS, the program is a workforce development program that introduces youth and young adults to manual labor jobs outdoors; and

 

WHEREAS, the SCA’s projects will be planned in conjunction with DPW staff, and in accordance with City master plans.

 

 

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

 

Section 1.  The Mayor and the Director of the Department of Public Works (“DPW”) and/or the Director of the Department of Finance are hereby authorized to enter into an Agreement or Agreements with the Student Conservation Association (“SCA”) for the purpose of volunteer services provided by the SCA, resulting in improving the City of Pittsburgh’s (“City”) environmental conservation, at no cost to the City.

 

Section 2.  Said Agreement or Agreements thereto shall be approved by the City Solicitor as to form.
