WHEREAS, Amy Manfredo began with the City of Pittsburgh in 1989 as a part-time EMS Billing Clerk has had quite a diverse career. Within 6 months she began a full-time position with City Planning working with Residential Parking Permits, currently under the Parking Authority; and

WHEREAS, she moved to the Finance Department where she has worked as a Clerk, Office Tax Investigator, and became the secretary for the City Treasurer, Margaret Lanier, staying in that position for two years; and,
WHEREAS, when the Chief Clerk in the mailroom retired in 2012, she took over the mailroom with a title change of Mail Room Supervisor, where she stayed for the last 10 years; and,
WHEREAS, Amy has been the party planner for the department. Being the 11th of 12 siblings helped her in that role. She would plan "happy hour", Birthday parties, Christmas parties, Steeler parties and anything else that deserved a celebration. She brought much joy to what could be an otherwise mundane job. As Supervisor, she kept the mailroom operating during the COVID Pandemic, while keeping her staff safe; and,
WHEREAS, she has been married for 22 years to Philip, a retired City of Pittsburgh Fire Captain. They belong to the Sheraden American Legion where they participate in all of their community functions. During the fire of the Sheraden United Methodist Church, Amy and her husband quietly arranged and paid for food and refreshments for the community and all First Responders; and,
WHEREAS, she enjoys traveling and has been all around the globe. Upon retiring, she plans to continue to see more of the world with her husband. Her favorite quote in parting is "It's been fun, now I'm done!"; and,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby thank Amy Manfredo for her years of service to the City of Pittsburgh and wish her a happy retirement; and,
