Ordinance supplementing the Pittsburgh City Code, Title one Administrative, Chapter 156, creating a Clean Sweep Division within the Department of Public Works in order to oversee and improve the maintenance of vacant city owned properties, and to formalize the status of the Division.

 

Body

The Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby enacts as follows:

 

Section 1.

 

Chapter 156: Clean Sweep Division

 

156.01- Purpose of Division

 

                     The Department of Public Works shall maintain the Clean Sweep Division to address the maintenance of vacant city owned properties.

 

156.02 Responsibilities of Division

 

                     Said Division Shall:

 

(a)                     Gather data and inventory to create a portfolio of all city owned lots across the City of Pittsburgh from the Department of Real Estate;

 

(b)                     Cut and Clean vacant city owned properties to improve quality of life throughout the city neighborhoods;

 

(c)                     Implement a monthly report of lots that have been cut and cleaned that shall be distributed to the Mayor’s Office and City Council;

 

(d)                     Implement strategies to create a long-term solution of maintaining the City’s vacant lot inventory

 

(e)                     To perform Clean and Liens as directed by the City
