WHEREAS, Catholic Schools Week is celebrated January 31st through February 6th, 2010 with the theme “Dividends for Life” which includes, Faith, Knowledge, Discipline, and Morals; and,
WHEREAS, Catholic schools strive to foster the growth of the whole person in preparation for the future by providing quality education in a Christ-centered environment that nurtures faith development and involves families as partners in education; and,
WHEREAS, we recognize St. Margaret of Scotland School, located in Green Tree, who have been educating children from pre-K to eighth grade since 1951 with the belief in an educational system that is Christ-centered and committed to Catholic Doctrine that offers each student the opportunity for academic excellence in spiritual growth, and service to others; and,
WHEREAS, we recognize St. Philip School located in Crafton, which since 1915 the Sisters of Charity, in the gentle tradition of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, teach students from the 3-year-old Pre-school to the 8th grade level a love of art, music, drama and poetry, along with a superior academic curriculum with the enhancement of technology integration and broad curricular activities and at a young age, students are introduced to traditional Catholic prayer, worship, and how to follow Jesus the Angelway; and,
WHEREAS, we recognize Ss Simon and Jude School, an elementary school located in Scott Township, which has offered and continues to offer excellent Catholic education to the members of the parish and surrounding community for over fifty years and Saints Simon and Jude School also strives to involve its students in the broader community by outreach to the homeless, others in need and Parish Food Bank; and,
