• Title: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh honors Pitt Make a Difference Day for 10 years of serving the Pittsburgh community and emphasizing the importance of community service for its students, staff, and faculty; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, October 31, 2017 to be "Pitt Make a Difference Day" Day in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, Pitt Make a Difference Day, or PMADD, is celebrating its 10th year of engaging the University of Pittsburgh in serving the greater Pittsburgh community; and

WHEREAS, originally run by the Division of Student Affairs, PMADD is now overseen by the Office of PittServes within the Division, and is organized and run by a team of dedicated Pitt students; and

WHEREAS, PMADD coordinated student involvement through 99 different service projects this year, all of which were submitted by Pittsburgh-area organizations and communities to address large areas of need; and

WHEREAS, PMADD this year rallied 4,194 students, staff, and alumni from the Oakland and branch campuses to serve the Pittsburgh region; and

WHEREAS, PMADD continues to represent the University of Pittsburgh's commitment to engaging its students with the broader Pittsburgh community, and is bound to grow its outreach and impact; and
